Technical Support & FAQ
1. How do I install the presets?
Answer: You need the Pod Go Edit software on your Mac or PC. Connect your Pod Go via USB, drag the .pgp file into an empty slot in the preset list, and hit Save on the device.
2. It sounds "dark" or "thin" on my setup. Why?
Answer: Presets are tuned for specific gear. This preset was dialed in using a [Stratocaster/Single Coils]. If you are using Humbuckers, try lowering the Input Gain or adjusting the Global EQ.
Note: Ensure your "Amp Out" or "Main Out" settings match your physical gear (e.g., FRFR speaker vs. Front of Amp).
3. Does this work on Helix or HX Stomp?
Answer: These files are .pgp format specifically for Pod Go. While the engines are similar, you cannot directly load a Pod Go file into a Helix. (Check our "Helix Collection" for those versions!)
4. I’m getting a "DSP Limit Reached" error.
Answer: Our presets are optimized to fit the Pod Go’s DSP limit. If you are adding extra heavy blocks (like Pitch Shifters or Poly Capos), you may run out of processing power.
5. What firmware do I need?
Answer: We recommend being on the latest Pod Go Edits (2.50 at this date) to ensure all blocks and parameters load correctly.
6. What gear do I need to use these presets?
Answer: To get the most out of GoTones, you will need:
• The Hardware: A Line 6 Pod Go or Pod Go Wireless.
• The Software: The free Pod Go Edit app installed on your computer.
• The Connection: A standard USB-B cable to connect your pedalboard to your Mac or PC.
Pro Tip: How to "De-Mud" Your Tone in Any Room
Every room and every speaker responds differently to bass frequencies. If a preset sounds a bit too "boomy" or "muddy" on your gear, don't worry—it’s an easy 10-second fix.
The "Low Cut" Fix:
1. Press the Upper Knob on your Pod Go to enter the Edit menu.
2. Navigate to the Cab or IR block.
3. Find the Low Cut parameter.
4. Slowly increase the Low Cut (usually between 80Hz and 120Hz).
This "cleans up" the sub-bass frequencies that cause muddiness, leaving you with a tight, professional guitar tone that cuts through the mix.
